Jimmy Kershaw, athlete and mentor

Absolute Tri Coaching have nurtured Jimmy Kershaw http://absolutetri.com/absolute-wall-of-fame/jimmy-kershaw/ from the age of 11 when he first started training with Absolute Tri Club Worcester. Since then, Jimmy’s journey has led him to be a full-time athlete training in Nottingham with Steve Lloyd and Absolute Tri Club and Absolute Tri Coaching as his main sponsors and coaching venues. At the young age of 20, Jimmy is very keen to put back into the sport and as a result he coaches regularly at one our Absolute Tri Club’s junior venues; Bingham Leisure Centre. Here Jimmy is a prominent figure with both the club’s development squad and general squad athletes.

The beauty of having a developing elite triathlete assisting with the coaching for young athletes is that he is able to use a high level of expertise and knowledge to enhance the coaching process and thus progress of the young athletes within the club.

This video shows Jimmy demonstrating run technique to our Development Squad athletes who were to go on to do a 600m build set on the track. Jimmy’s knowledge and understanding of run technique enabled all the athletes to work on quick turnover of feet, body position and strong arms.
