Having already delivered some one day development days this year for athletes from the West Midlands Regional Academy; Absolute Tri Academy and Absolute Tri Development squads we are looking to add more dates this year and extend the invitation to like-minded athletes from around the county to train and learn together in a performance based environment, lead by our Level 3 Head Coach; Steve Lloyd. Steve will draw upon his experience as a Regional Academy Coach as well as Head Coach for Absolute Tri Club and Performance Coach at The University of Nottingham as well as many oversea’s camps with British Triahtlon and Triathlon England national squads. The main focus for these training days and camps will be to enhance triathlon skills and training alongside peers of a similar ability with an opportunity to learn from your peers and older more experienced athletes.
Absolute Tri Coaching recognise the positive impact such athletes can have on younger athletes and are therefore are in a unique position to also offer training camps and days to run alongside these performance training days for younger, developing triathletes at the same time and venue. These will be lead by our Level 2 coach; Julie Whaley who also has a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw upon as Junior Co-Ordinator, lead Junior coach and age-group coach.
Young developing athletes clearly have differing needs and goals to those on a performance pathway, however, the core philosophy remains the same; training with like-minded athletes to be the best they can be at a particular stage of their long-term development.
Due to our philosophy of keeping the number of coaches to athlete ratio low places will be limited at each camp. Therefore these will be offered out on a first come first served basis. It is expected that such camps will be extended to external athletes as the camps gain popularity.
Within these camps we will also be delivering training days specifically for young athletes with much more emphasis around fun with the sessions for the younger athletes focused more on enjoyment, mixing fun games and activities with vital skill acquisition but still being in the same environment as the performance athletes so they can learn new skills
These one off training days will be held at Harvey Hadden.
The times and dates for the upcoming training days are as follows:
- Tuesday 25th October – 09:00 until 16:00
