Now that we are in race season and the weather is reasonable it’s great to get some race specific sessions in on the bike. 4 x 10 minutes chain gang with a focus on keeping the pace high but important that everyone keeps the pace smooth and not surge when they hit the front. Due to a mixed ability group the aim was to keep the group together for 8 minutes to allow the slower riders to be pushed and benefit from the group and then a build the pace, smoothly for the last 2 minutes.

Some good racing at the weekend in Kielce, Poland. Super Sprint format with heats and finals across the day and all our athletes made the final and put in some solid performances.

Another great run session by the squad yesterday afternoon. Everyone running above race pace even into a stiff breeze. Lighter numbers this week with a few athletes away racing, recovering from racing and also deep into exams at the University. Next Super Series race just over 4 weeks away so will need all that speed.

Every athlete has different demands on their personal life with family, work, friends and it’s important that your plan fits around this, not takes over your life. Also think about how you as an athlete likes to train, on your own or with other athletes. If so, it might be worth looking for a setup or team that allows a good mixture of both group training and individual training.
